1. Overview
Every homestay on our platform is someone's actual home. These house rules exist to keep your stay comfortable and to make sure our host families feel respected. Individual hosts may add one or two specific rules on their property page — those apply in addition to the rules below.
2. Identity & Registration
All guests must carry a valid government-issued photo ID and present it at check-in. This is a legal requirement for guest accommodation in India and cannot be waived.
3. Check-in / Check-out
4. Respecting the Host's Home
5. Smoking, Alcohol & Substances
Out of respect for the spiritual nature of Ujjain and the personal preferences of our host families, most homestays are smoke-free and alcohol-free. Any exceptions are clearly stated on the individual property listing. Use of illegal substances is strictly prohibited at all properties and will result in immediate removal without refund.
6. Quiet Hours & Noise
Please keep noise to a minimum between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM out of consideration for the host family and neighbouring homes — many guests are also resting before an early Bhasma Aarti visit.
7. Visitors & Extra Guests
Only guests included in your confirmed booking may stay overnight. If you'd like to host a visitor during the day or add an extra overnight guest, please inform your host in advance — additional charges may apply.
8. Food & Meal Timings
Where home-cooked meals are included or available, timings are typically fixed around breakfast, lunch and dinner hours to match the host family's own schedule. Please inform your host of the meal times you need, especially around early darshan visits, and let them know of any allergies in advance.
9. Safety & Damages
Guests are responsible for any accidental damage caused to the property or its belongings during their stay, and the cost of repair or replacement may be charged. Please report any safety concerns to your host or to our support team immediately.
10. Pets
Most homestays are not equipped for pets. If you are travelling with a pet, please check with our team before booking so we can find a suitable host.
11. Right to Refuse Service
Hosts and Ujjain Homestay reserve the right to refuse or end a stay, without refund, in cases of abusive behaviour, violation of house rules, or actions that endanger the safety of the host family or other guests.
