Our Story
Every meaningful journey begins with a story.
For Amit Saha, that story began on a Mahashivratri night in 2024.
His cousin had travelled from Surat to Ujjain with his wife, two young children, and elderly mother to seek the blessings of Mahakal. Like countless pilgrims, they expected the spiritual journey to be peaceful. Instead, they spent hours searching for a place to stay.
Hotels near the temple were fully booked. Others were charging several times the normal price. One travel agent even accepted an advance payment for a room that didn’t exist.
When it seemed they had nowhere to go, a local family opened the doors of their home.
They welcomed the family with a warm home-cooked meal, offered the grandmother the quietest room to rest, and woke everyone at 3:00 a.m. so they wouldn’t miss the sacred Bhasma Aarti. When they checked out, the hosts refused to take a single rupee more than what was fair.
That single act of kindness changed Amit’s perspective.
He realised that the real heart of Ujjain wasn’t found in expensive hotels—it lived in its people.
As someone who has spent years building technology and digital platforms, Amit asked himself a simple question:
“If honest local families are ready to welcome pilgrims, why is it still so difficult to find them?”
Instead of accepting the problem, he decided to solve it.
That’s how Ujjain Homestay was born—a platform built to make every Mahakal devotee’s journey safer, simpler, and more trustworthy.
Today, Amit personally works with local homeowners to bring verified homestays onto the platform. Every property is carefully reviewed, every host is verified, pricing is kept transparent, and our team remains available on WhatsApp to assist guests before, during, and after their stay.
More than just a booking website, Ujjain Homestay is Amit’s commitment to preserving the warmth and hospitality that first inspired him.
Today, we are a growing community of trusted hosts across Ujjain—near Mahakaleshwar Temple, the ghats, and the railway station—helping thousands of pilgrims experience the city with comfort, honesty, and peace of mind.
Our mission is simple: Every devotee deserves a trusted stay, fair pricing, and a local friend in Ujjain.
Because every journey to Mahakal should begin with trust, not uncertainty.
